(Aberdeen, SCOTLAND) – Missed this last week until one of the industry rags unearthed it today…Diageo Great Britain Country Director, Andrew Cowan, was spotted on Twitter asking for BrewDog to drop its “witch hunt” in regards to the recent BII awards debacle. A Diageo representative intervened so that BrewDog would not be issued an award it had already been selected to receive. See Cowan’s tweets below. The whole thing has been a PR coup for BrewDog who, as of yesterday, was still asking followers for help in naming a beer to commemorate the incident. BII’s Peter Thomas responded to the flap last week as well. They will milk this moment for everything it is worth.
