(Barrington, IL) – Lake Barrington’s Onion Pub & Brewery, brewing the finest beer available to local beer drinkers, is expanding its production.
Onion Pub & Brewery, located in Lake Barrington, is expanding its production with the addition of four new 40 barrel fermenters and storage tanks, custom built for their unique basement location. These additions will triple its current capacity.
“We have plenty of floor space, but unlike many production breweries, our ceiling height is restricted due to our underground dynamic,” Mike Kainz of Onion Pub & Brewery said. “Due to increased demand for our lineup of canned beer styles, the expansion timing is critical as our best-selling fall seasonal ‘Pumpkin Ale’ production is only a couple of months away.”
Wild Onion Brewing Company currently brews on a 20 Hectoliter brewhouse and will have a new capacity of 6,000 barrels per year. Brewery tours are available every Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
“Our goal is simple: to provide a quality dining and beer-drinking experience in a space that inspires. We brew our ales and lagers in a 6,000-square-foot brewery, cellar and packaging complex, directly below the bar,” Kainz said.
Onion Pub & Brewery guarantees only the freshest beer, and its foods are created with the same commitment to freshness and quality by using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible. The timber frame is built from recycled timbers that pre-date the American Revolution, while its building is perched on a restored gravel quarry that holds water for the local watershed.
