Breckenridge Stranahan’s update: more Well Built ESB on the way, Vanilla Porter next year

Stranahan’s Well Built™ E.S.B. (Breckenridge)(Denver, CO) – Breckenridge Brewery Marketing Director, Todd Thibault, told Colorado Craft Beer Radio that the company plans to release three more batches of Stranahan’s Well Built ESB this year.

Thibault explains that Breckenridge was only able to release around 160 cases for the Q1 batch (12 bottles per case) but that 250-300 cases are expected for the second batch, coming in Q2. The agreement with Stranahan’s calls for the distillery to provide enough barrels for Breckenridge to be able to produce 700 cases of Stranahan’s Well Built ESB in 2012.

In 2013, that agreement calls for enough barrels for 1,400 cases. Breckenridge will release its Vanilla Porter aged in Stranahan’s Whiskey barrels as the second beer in the series next year.

Thibault says the series will be available only in Colorado for “a number of years.”

Unrelated to the Stranhan’s series, Thibault offered up that changed are coming to Breckenridge Ballpark Pub. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Breckenridge is adding 16 taps to the tower. 10-12 of the taps will be Breckenridge beers and Thibault is working on a program that will feature barrel-aged beers from other craft breweries for the remaining taps.
