(Eugene, OR) – After doing a second listen of Ninkasi Brewing‘s Jamie Floyd on The Brewing Network, it turns out that there was a bit of news…
– Adding distribution to Montana this year
– Hoping in the next year to year and a half that there will be expanded distribution throughout California, Can find Ninkasi beers at BevMos statewide and is working with whole Foods on “a bigger dynamic” (didn’t elaborate)
– Produced 56,400 barrels in 2011 but bought hops for a brewery that was doing the equivalent of 250,000 barrels
– Is an all-pellet hop brewery and the 13th-ranked customer for Hopunion (despite being toward the lower part of 50th-ranked breweries)
– On growth, has put together four brewhouses in just 5 1/2 years
– Currently working on a 56-barrel brewhouse system (60 barrel system but they use a lot of hops)
– System includes a 20 barrel yeast prop tank, three 60 barrel fermenters and four 80 barrel fermenters
