City mayors square off over local breweries in bout of utter futility
Though Boston mayor, Tom Menino, championed local small breweries during an interview leading into Saturday night’s NFL playoff game between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos, he made the error of saying “Uck” when describing Colorado beer. So Denver mayor, Michael Hancock responded…
"First of all, we are the microbrew capital of the nation. Some of the best beer in the world is brewed here in Colorado," Hancock said. "The moment Sam Adams sells more beer than Coors, then he can come talk to me. Otherwise, he needs to stay in Boston and not talk about our beer."
Slighting one of the nation’s largest independent beermakers is an equally classy response.
Inexplicably, the piece was written without any mention of Tim Tebow.

Does Tim Tebow drink #craftbeer?
*futility
Thanks, spell check!
Does Hancock equate selling more to being better? I assume he’s ignoring taste when comparing Sam Adams and Coors.

Maybe I’m confused, but is Denver really the microbrew capital of the USA? I thought San Diego had more microbreweries than Denver. And I am a bit unclear as to what Coors has to do with “the best beer in the world” because that is not a phrase I would use to describe Coors.
In all honesty SA and Coors aren’t that far off from each other 😉
I think i’d be more inclined to mention some of the craft breweries i.e. New Belgium, Avery, Great Divide, etc. Politicians being politicians, of course both with their heads up their ass when it comes to craft beer.
Thanks for the link Jason!
