Westvleteren XII headed to U.S. shores next year
Daniel Shelton, of Shelton Brothers Importers confirmed that next April, he will be importing 7,760 special ‘gift-pack’ units which contain six bottles of beer and two, 15cl glasses.
Manneken-Brusel Imports will be participating as well per the report.

Curtis, it’s very VERY similar to St. Bernardus Abt 12. At one point, they were one in the same. As a matter of fact, St. Bernardus still uses the original Westvleteren yeast. Westy themselves are now using Westmalle’s strains.
I’ll believe it when I’m lining up at 3a for it.
I was excited when I saw the headline, then disappointed when I saw the allotment. Ah well. Some day.

Kind of bummed that I went through so much trouble finding someone in Belgium to hook me up with 2 sets…still excited to get/have them though! I am sure the US release will be insane.
So what we are saying is get your job at the beer importer/distributor now…or at least get some friends in high places LOL. Lets figure 2000 of these go to CA before anywhere else, NY will probably get 1500 more. Looking at 4200 for the rest of the US. Let us figure that a considerable number will not make it to a retailer, leaving 3500 for the rest of us which wouldn’t be so bad except for every one, at least 20 want it. My numbers could be way off but the point is the same. I’m not even Belgian-crazy and I’d like to try a bottle. Guess you can make a pact with 5 of your friends and split the bottles up and draw straws for the glasses. Now hopefully they are keeping this to under $10/bottle. Also, is the number the other importer getting from that 7760 or is it additional?
And this news comes just months after the Shelton Bros pulled out of Indiana. Goddamnit.
