(Chico, CA) – Another Sierra Nevada Brewing update.
Communications Coordinator, Bill Manley, reported the following on Beer Advocate in mid/late October…
We will bottle some Bourbon Barrel-aged Bigfoot in 2012… the tentative release for that is May, but we don’t have a concrete date set.
It will be super limited, but there may be more than one release this year. (2012, I mean.)
It looks like about 100 Bbls will be bottled this coming spring.
For reference, the Sierra 30th Anniversary series was 1000 Bbls each so this is a 10th of the size of that release…Hoptimum 2011 was 400 Bbls…if you saw either of those…cut the distro down by a quarter.
We’re not trying to be stingy here, but it’s really hard to do a barrel-aged release for us much bigger than this. Barrels take up a lot of room…
It’s too early to say which markets will get what. Stay tuned and as the time gets nearer, I’ll probably know a little better.

people may die over this.
Anyone else wish the label was cooler?
I think that’s a joke. Difficult to detech through text on a page though. 🙂
I see the HI5₵ on the label, but I’ll believe it when I taste it here on Hawaii Island. What can I do to make sure at least one case of it makes it to my favorite beer store in Pahoa?
Hi Punatic. Please see the note at the bottom of the post. Maybe I should have put it at the top. Actually, I’ll go do that now.
