(Pittsburg, CA) – This week, for the first time ever, Heretic Brewing beers are available in bombers.
Founder/Owner, Jamil Zainasheff, told The Brewing Network on Sunday that bottles of Evil Cousin Imperial IPA and Evil Twin Red Ale will be available for sale at the brewery starting Tuesday morning.
Though Zainasheff didn’t specify what’s happening with local distribution, he said that Central Coast Distributing would be handling distribution in Southern California. There are no immediate plans for signing on with distributors in other states though there have been “talks.”
Heretic is using a mobile service to help with bottling. Production for this first run is 480 cases (240 of each beer). Zainasheff hopes to be able to bottle every four weeks and alluded to the possibility of increasing production as time goes on.
Zainasheff also appeared on the Beersmith podcast a few weeks ago as part of a 30-minute interview. It’s worth a listen for those interested in Heretic’s beginnings and the idea of going from a homebrewer to a pro brewer. He mentioned Tafelbully Belgian Ale, which was Heretic’s first beer, as well as a new sour porter that he’s been working on called Miscreant Flanders Red.
Last but not least, keg collar label approvals have come in for a few other beers: Shallow Grave Porter, Torment Dark Belgian Ale and Worry Belgian Golden Ale.
You can actually pre-purchase 2 of the Heretic beers from our site. We worked closely with one of our distributors and with Jamil to be the first market outside of the Bay Area to have access to Heretic beers. We’ll be doing more of this in the coming months with other brewers from all over the country.
I cannot wait for this!
