(Baltimore, MD) – A new and unique restaurant is on the Baltimore dining horizon, the Heavy Seas Ale House. The 4,900 sq. ft. space is located at The Tack Factory, 1300 Bank Street convenient to Harbor East, Little Italy, Fells Point and the Inner Harbor.

Heavy Seas Ale House will allow patrons to tap into the Heavy Seas Beer experience in a brick and mortar extension of the pyratical brand. Developed by Patrick Dahlgren, a Baltimore City restaurateur and stepson of Hugh Sisson, the concept is a natural extension of the Heavy Seas locally brewed beer. Hugh Sisson is the owner of Clipper City Brewing Company (the brewer of Heavy Seas Beer) and former owner of the much beloved Federal Hill institution, Sisson’s which was also Maryland’s first brewpub.

“I love the symmetry – the pub business launched my craft beer career. How cool is it that my brewing career will further the pub profession of my stepson?” stated Hugh Sisson, Founder and Managing Partner of Heavy Seas Beer.
The neighborhood tavern inspired décor will feature a 40’ long bar, dark woods, comfortable seating, flat screens and a unique outdoor beer garden. Offering first class food and beer pairings, an array of specialty beer and cask ales, eight Heavy Seas Beers on tap, a raw bar and the return of the growler to Baltimore. Heavy Seas Ale House will be a required experience for beer lovers everywhere.

Kevin Hollins, managing partner at The Tack Factory and landlord for the new Heavy Seas Ale House, thinks the strength of the Heavy Seas brand will not only draw locals looking for a taste of one of Baltimore’s finest beers, but will also draw tourists visiting Baltimore: “Hugh and his team are obsessive about quality. Anyone who has ever toured the brewery or spent any time with them knows this is not just about beer; it’s about dedication to great ingredients and old fashioned, artisanal craft brewing. Heavy Seas Ale House has an anticipated opening of 1st quarter 2012. The upscale pub will serve both lunch and dinner and also has private party space accommodating up to 40 people. Heavy Seas Ale House was represented by Cana Development’s Michael Morris.
