(Escondido, CA) – Some Stone Brewing notes and tidbits…without further ado…
The Dieline, a very popular packaging photoblog, featured Stone’s Quingenti Millitre Series bottles yesterday. These are the first mockups that we have seen of Saison du BUFF Aged in Red Wine Barrels and El Camino (Un)Real Black Ale Aged in American Oak Barrels. Stone Brewing’s Jacob McKean had no additional information to offer up on these two beers. The brewery previously mentioned Highway 78 Scotch Ale Aged in Scotch Barrels as a future Quingenti Millitre release as well though that bottle was not featured on The Dieline.
Stone 11.11.11 Vertical Epic Ale is scheduled to be released in just one month. Some news leaked out this week regarding the beer when a one-line description appeared on the San Diego Beer Week website:
“11/11/11 vertical epic Belgian golden with cinnamon & Mexican peppers”
Naturally, it caught fire over on Beer Advocate. McKean said that the description wasn’t entirely accurate and it has since been taken down from the SDBW website. If I am interpreting this BA post from Stone’s Greg Koch correctly, the beer will include Anaheim and Sante Fe chilis so perhaps the inaccuracy relates to the type of peppers mentioned.
Double Bastard will begin hitting stores on Monday.
The brewery will also have an announcement very soon regarding the release of another beer that I’ve mentioned on these back pages. Stay tuned for that.
