  1. Oh my, listen to Joe’s Garage, and you will know just how hard the drugs were that Zappa was popping…..and then he sobers up and blames weirdness on yeast? LOL…..so dumb in theory, as his music was, that it is extremely entertaining and enjoyable. I’ll lift a pint to that!

  2. Zappa didn’t do any drugs except caffeine and nicotine. He even threw people out of the band for doing drugs. I won’t disagree he sometimes had some weird ideas and views. Guess he didn’t know yeast was in wine as well as beer. The idea that in the US mass market beer is sold and promoted as a way to get drunk and macho is very accurate. Just look at the “man up” ads by miller, or “how cold is your beer” by Coors. The other major brewers are as guilty too. On a side note: If my beer has to have a warning label that it’s not cold enough to choke down I think I’d switch beers.

I still enjoy a lot of Zappa’s music, including Joe’s Garage. Boring classic rock it’s not. He still has a huge following of fans. Almost Dead-like.
