Research group: world beer market growth forecast at 2.5% in 2011
All we’ve heard here in the U.S. for the past couple years is that the beer market is plunging. Elsewhere, it is a completely different story.
The 2.5 percent volume growth forecast for this year — largely reflecting the increasing taste for beer among emerging market consumers — compares with 1.6 percent growth in 2010 and an 0.4 percent advance in 2009. For this year, the research group predicts 1 percent growth in Europe and America and some 4 to 5 percent in the emerging regions of Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
