How much beer is sold at a college football game?
Interesting stats from CNBC reporter, Darren Rovell:
For last week’s game, West Virginia sold 21,811 bottles of beer and went thru 10 kegs of craft beer, netting a $75,781 profit.
Attendance for Saturday’s game against Norfolk State was 51,911 according to ESPN. So for every fan that entered the stadium, West Virginia made close to a buck fifty on beer sales. Next question: what craft beer was in those kegs?
“$7 for a 16-ounce plastic bottle of an Anheuser Busch or MillerCoors beer and $9 for a 20-ounce craft beer made by Morgantown Brewing Co.”

What the stats don’t indicate is how much beer was illegally consumed by underage college students before the game who couldn’t buy it at the stadium. I’m sure that would have doubled those totals.
Thanks, Dave.
Let’s say that the average waste on a keg at the ballpark is 4-5% (much lower than a bartender trying to manage pours on a batshit crazy weekend night).
So, 10 kegs x 95 20 oz. pours per keg (holds 1,984 oz) x $9 per pour = $8,550 in sales of craft beer.
