(Philadelphia, PA) – Returning this summer…now in bottles, too.
Per Yards Brewing‘s Steve Mashington, “[Cape of Good Hope] will be released in Philadelphia and a very miniscule amount in South Jersey on August 1.
We brewed 150 barrels of it this year. It is slightly different than from the last time in that we changed up the dry hops (Ahtanum and Nugget). We will alter this beer a little bit different each year in an attempt to create something special.
It is one of the few seasonal beers we do each year. This limited edition beer will be available at the brewery and at retail outlets. We anticipate it to sell out fast, so stock up when you see it.”
Sell sheet copy: “Cape of Good Hope Expedition 2011 is an unfiltered, uniquely aged Imperial Pale. Brewed with Nugget, double-dry hopped with Ahtanum and left to the forces of fate following fermentation, Cape of Good Hope is reminiscent of something you’d find solace in on a balmy, Indian evening far away from home. Beware of tigers…
Cape of Good Hope will mature well, but it will taste best fresh. ABV 8.3%.
Available in 1/2 and 1/6 kegs, and 4×6 12oz NR cases.”
If only they’d release their Entire Porter and Old Ale as seasonals, too. The BEST brewery in Philly.
