  1. Ok, I enjoy trying different and interesting beers, but this sounds like there is way too much going on. Seriously, why do you have to fancy a beer up this much? If you make great beer, it will speak for itself. A lot of breweries are adding way too many adjuncts into their beers, and frankly, it’s kind of sad. It’s almost that they’re grasping at straws, trying to make a more extreme beer.

Please understand, I have been a homebrewer for quite some time, and I have tasted around 400 individual beers, from bland to extravagant, and to be honest, there are a few great beers that uses the right amount of adjuncts, and some just go overboard. The best beers are usually simple and to the point, and I am in no way saying commercial, mass produced beers. Look at Great Lakes Brewing Co., Dortmunder and Edmund Fitzgerald are wonderful, and no adjuncts added. Just Water, Malt, Hops and Yeast. I feel that these breweries are trying to hard to stand out and forget to make good beer.

  2. I think this new craze of making beer more exotic is great. Beer has been brewed for thousands of years. It is time to try new and inventive flavors. If you dont like the new ideas then just stick with the same ole beer you always have. Ive tried over 2000 beers and I rarely try something more than once unless it was special or I was in a place where I had no other choices. I do love the German beers that adhere to the Reinheitsgebot but as I said before they have all been done before. As Barry said….”Its time for a change” lmao! 😉
