Some catch-up beer notes to start off your Tuesday…
…From Hair of the Dog‘s Alan Sprints on Facebook, “Cherry Adam from the Wood is ready and release will be Saturday, March 12th from 10 to 12am. Rich layers of smoke, cherries and bourbon. Like previous years, this batch is barley carbonated, but does have a fine bead. It has more intense flavors than previous bottlings, because of extra fruit and time in the barrels. There is no limit, the Beer is in 12oz bottles and will sell for $10 a bottle and $200 a case of 24.”
…SKA Brewing released a video late last week that is a parody of Brew Masters. They call is Brew Minions.
…Oops! Tyranena Brewing revealed in its newsletter: “Basically, I shipped several thousand dollars worth of beer to the wrong wholesaler… in the wrong state. In my defense, it was a relatively easy error to make… A year or so ago I created a standard bill of lading in Excel, in which you select the shipping address via a drop down box. I simply forgot to change the “ship to” field… so what was meant for Chicago, ended up in Minneapolis.”
…Great Divide Brewing said in Thursday’s newsletter, “Keep your eyes peeled for our next round of sensational seasonals. Colette, our 2010 GABF silver medal saison, the ever-scrumptious Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti and the crowd favorite 17th Anniversary Wood-Aged Double IPA will all be making their re-appearance around April 1st.”
…Jester King Craft Brewery has some news from this past Friday: “A small number of Black Metal 750ml bottles will begin making their way to Austin retailers tomorrow, and to those throughout the remainder of the state starting next week. The official statewide release of both Wytchmaker and Black Metal 750ml bottles will take place in approximately two weeks, once the current batches have fully conditioned.”
…Lightning Brewery mentions in a newsletter, “The Fulminator Lager is making a comeback and may be available in bottles in the future! More details to come!”
…On Facebook, Boulevard Brewing reports, “We’re dry hopping Saison-Brett [Wednesday]. This seasonal Smokestack is back by popular demand this coming summer. We’ll keep you posted on when it will hit the shelves.”
…Funkwerks revealed its spring seasonal: “Our spring seasonal this year is going to be “Brett Dream” it is a saison with some Brettanomyces Claussenii added for extra funk.”
…Missed this new one from Oakshire Brewing, “Axe of Perun is strong dark lager with hints of chocolate and licorice in the aroma. It has a sweet middle with a touch of roast and chocolate flavors that keep it in balance. This Baltic Porter ends with a slow drawn out finish reminiscent of mocha and brown sugar. 7.4% abv.” It was followed by a Red Wheat called Ratsel.
