Beer and Online Media Experts to Meet in Boulder, Colorado November 5-7, 2010
(Boulder, Colorado) – The world’s first conference of beer bloggers will take place in Boulder, Colorado from November 5-7, 2010. 150 bloggers, beer industry executives, and others involved in online media in the beer industry will gather to share experiences, learn about blogging and social media, and taste beers.
Beer bloggers are considered the “new media” when it comes to the art of critiquing beer and have a role in educating consumers about the beers they drink. There are over 340 “citizen beer bloggers”, those not affiliated with any brewery or other company, in North America alone.
“When I saw the announcement about the conference, I rushed to get my credit card out because I have a feeling this will fill up quickly,” said Gerard Walen of Road Trips For Beer. “Boulder is one of my favorite cities to visit, and I’m looking forward to going back there and meeting some of the folks in person that I only know on the beer blogosphere.”
Conference organizer Zephyr Adventures, a Montana-based adventure travel company, already co-organizes both the Wine Bloggers Conference and the International Food Bloggers Conference. “The Wine Bloggers Conference has provided increased credibility for wine bloggers, connected bloggers with the wine industry, and improved both the quality and quantity of wine blogging around the world”, says Zephyr’s owner Allan Wright. “We think the Beer Bloggers Conference will have a similar positive effect on the beer industry.”
Boulder, Colorado was chosen as the inaugural location for the conference because of its scenic beauty near the Rocky Mountains, its excellent transport with nearby Denver International Airport, and its 10 local breweries. The Boulder Beer Company and Oskar Blues Brewery have signed on as initial sponsors, in addition to Draft Magazine, the Colorado Brewers Guild, and the Boulder Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The conference will be held at the Boulder Marriott, an award-winning hotel in downtown Boulder. Complete information about the conference can be found at www.BeerBloggersConference.org.

I live in Belgium and may not be able to make it but will be there in spirit!

Wow-This is crazy! (crazy awesome :])
I have been trying to categorize all of the US-based beer blogs online at beerpages.blogspot and it seems like every time I think I’ve got them all I stumble upon a whole new list of beer-blogs that are new to me!
I’m glad that there are so many people getting the word out about better-beer. See you all in November 😀
-Prost!
