Catching up on some new approvals . . .

Heavy Seas Beer Co. recently got approval for its new Hang Ten Weizen Doppelbock label. The beer is set to come back to retail shelves (and in draft) in July. Description: “A classic German-style weizen bock, slightly cloudy and bursting with flavor. It will benefit with aging up to two years.” 10% ABV.

Last week, I posted up a batch of the new East End Illustration Ale labels. There was one straggler. East End Brewing tweeted this morning that the label had initially been “rejected due to lack of approval from fictitious man in image.” Does the TTB require authorization signatures from all cartoon characters on beer labels now?? The label has since been approved.

Another of the new labels for Ballast Point Brewing. This one is Black Marlin in 22’s. Here are the others.

Coolship cerise copy2

Finally, Allagash Coolship beers! Before you get too excited though, the brewery has confirmed that these are not for public release (at least at this time) but rather a formality for being able to bring bottles to events and beer dinners. In addition to Cerise (aged in oak with cherries), Allagash also got approval for Allagash Red (aged in oak with raspberries) and Allagash Resurgam Ale. Simply Beer has a ton of information on these beers and a podcast featuring a tasting to boot.
