(Amherst, WI) – More news coming out of a Wisconsin brewery . . .
Though Central Waters Brewing is most well-known in beer geek circles for its big stouts, the brewery is about to introduce its first-ever Double IPA in 4-packs.
According to President, Paul Graham, Central Waters Illumination “will be released in the Tap Room at the brewery Friday May 28th. It will also be available for pickup by our distributors that same week – making stores in some markets by the week after. Distribution will be statewide as well as Minnesota in the markets that we are in…”
Illumination is a heavy hitter when it comes to both alcohol (9% ABV) and hops (108 IBU).
The beer features a hop mix of Galena, Chinook, Centennial, and Simcoe. According to John Palmer’s How to Brew, Galena was the most widely used bittering hop in the U.S. a decade ago though it’s fallen out of the top 50 most-used hops according to The New Brewer. Quite a turnaround . . .
