DESCHUTES BREWERY LAUNCH PARTY FOR “THE ABYSS” SCHEDULED
Much-loved, much-anticipated brew to hit the streets on November 3rd

23 October 2009 – Bend, Oregon – Deschutes Brewery today announced that it has scheduled a launch party in Bend for this year’s debut of The Abyss. The brewery’s deepest, darkest brew, this year’s party marks the fourth release of this dark and mysterious imperial stout – part of Deschutes Brewery’s Reserve Series.

WHERE: Deschutes Brewery & Public House, Downtown Bend, Oregon

WHEN: November 3, 2009 5:30 p.m.

WHAT: Launch Party for The Abyss

The Abyss will be available on tap, while wax-dipped bottles of The Abyss will be available for sale starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Bend pub. These early sales are limited to six bottles per person, as amounts are limited. The first 48 bottle customers will get bottles signed by Deschutes Brewmaster Larry Sidor.

CONTACT: Bend Pub (541) 382-9242

For enthusiasts who don’t live in Bend or Portland? The Abyss will be available in early November all across the American West, including Hawaii. The only Deschutes state not feeling the love is Texas, due to state labeling laws. Marketing Manager Jason Randles also says, “If you live in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, you probably won’t get any either.”

Limited availability in wax-dipped 22-ounce bottles and on draft at a few select establishments.

About Deschutes Brewery

Deschutes Brewery is in the business of daring people to expect more from their beer. That’s why we started off in 1988, on the banks of the Deschutes River here in Bend, Oregon, by selling Black Butte Porter at a time when others were sure a dark beer would never catch on. Our brewers love to push the envelope, especially if it makes someone nervous. But for us, the highest praise is a raised glass and a toast of “Bravely Done!” Discover more at http://www.DeschutesBrewery.com or follow us on Twitter: @deschutesbeer.
