Weyerbacher Brewing update: Whiskey Barrel Aged and Seventeen

Weyerbacher Whiskey Barrel Aged Ale(Easton, PA) – Some recent updates from the Weyerbacher Brewing blog

Per a blog post from this past Monday, Whiskey Barrel Aged has just been released.

“Whiskey Barrel Aged” is a big, dark, malty Brown Ale aged in whiskey barrels. It comes in at 9.0% ABV and 27 IBU. We used a blend of six different malts to give this one notes of sweet dried fruits. The beer was then aged in whiskey barrels to impart big flavors of vanilla, oak, and whiskey. As with all of our Brewers’ Select Series, there is only a limited run of 12 oz bottles available exclusively in the Weyerbacher Visitors Center and the rest of the beer is kegged and sent into the market for select bars and restaurants. Whiskey Barrel Aged is a once-and-done beer like the rest of them.

Weyerbacher Seventeen SaisonPer a May 31st blog post, Weyerbacher Seventeen is now available.

Seventeen is a Saison Ale brewed with pink peppercorns, orange zest, lemon zest, and grapefruit zest. Brewed to the classic “Weyerbacher anniversary requirement” of a strength of 10% abv or more, Seventeen weighs in at a style-obliterating 10.5% abv. Seventeen releases subtle notes of fruit, berry and pepper upon pouring. You’ll notice a balanced sweetness with a touch of citrus and spice with a dry and peppery finish. Seventeen is a once-and-done release only and will not be here for long! This style of beer should age very, very well.

Other notes…

– Last Chance IPA is now in bottles.

– The brewery is making progress on its foundation, part of the ongoing expansion/buildout.

Sour Black release was just announced.
